The Binance app defaults to showing prices and assets in USD, but if you prefer seeing values in your local currency, the mental conversion every time can be inconvenient. The app actually supports switching the fiat currency display unit — changing it makes everything much more intuitive. Make sure you have the genuine app from the Binance official website — the official Binance APP. iPhone users can follow our iOS installation guide.
Why Switch Currency Display
Understand Asset Value at a Glance
When the app shows you have 1,500 USDT in assets, you might need to calculate what that means in your local currency. But if it directly shows the local equivalent, you instantly know the real purchasing power.
Better Investment Decisions
Seeing BTC at $68,000 may not mean much. But converted to your local currency, you can immediately relate it to everyday spending and better judge whether the price is high or low.
Reduce Calculation Errors
Mental currency conversion is error-prone, especially during fast-paced trading decisions. Direct local currency display eliminates these mistakes.
How to Change the Currency Display
Method 1: Through Settings
- Open the Binance app
- Tap the profile icon in the top left
- Find "Settings" or the gear icon and tap it
- Look for "Currency" or "Fiat Unit" in the settings list
- Tap to see a list of fiat currencies
- Select your preferred currency (e.g., CNY, EUR, GBP, JPY)
- Go back — the app automatically switches to your chosen currency
Method 2: Quick Switch on Homepage
Some app versions have a currency switch button near the total assets display on the homepage — tap the currency symbol to switch.
Method 3: Through the Wallet Page
Tap "Wallet" or "Assets" in the bottom navigation, then find and tap the currency indicator at the top of the overview page.
What Changes After Switching
Homepage Asset Overview
"Total Assets ≈ $1,500.00" changes to the equivalent in your chosen currency at real-time exchange rates.
Markets Page
Every coin's price displays in your selected currency. Percentage changes remain the same, but price differences show in local currency.
Trading Page
Price displays follow the change. However, actual trading still uses the trading pair's native unit (e.g., USDT) — the local currency display is just a reference conversion.
Wallet Page
All holdings show values in your chosen currency. Distribution charts update accordingly.
Is the Exchange Rate Updated in Real Time?
Yes, the displayed prices are automatically converted using real-time exchange rates from Binance's data sources.
Note that this is a reference rate only — it doesn't represent the actual price at which you could sell for fiat. Actual fiat exchange prices depend on P2P market offers.
Supported Fiat Currencies
The Binance app supports many fiat display currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, KRW, AUD, SGD, HKD, TWD, CNY, and more. Your choice doesn't affect any trading operations.
FAQ
Does switching to local currency mean I trade in that currency?
No. Switching the display unit only affects how prices are shown. Your trades still use the trading pair's currency (e.g., USDT for BTC/USDT pairs).
Do I need to re-login after switching?
No. The currency switch takes effect immediately without affecting your login status.
Can different devices show different currencies?
Yes. Currency display settings are device-specific. You can show one currency on your phone and another on desktop.
